Kingfisher plc is a home improvement retailer. The Company, through its subsidiaries, joint ventures and associates supply home improvement products and services through a network of retail stores and other channels, located in the United Kingdom, continental Europe and China. The Company’s geographic segments are France, United Kingdom and Ireland and Other International. As of January 28, 2012, the Company operated over 955 stores in eight countries in Europe and Asia. Its retail brands include B&Q, Castorama, Brico Depot and Screwfix. It also has a 50% joint venture business in Turkey with Koc Group, and a 21% interest in, and alliance with Hornbach, Germany’s do it yourself (DIY) retailer. During the fiscal year ended January 28, 2012, 17 net stores opened, eight in Poland, four in Russia, six in Turkey and one rationalization in China. During fiscal 2012, it acquired National Energy Services Limited in the United Kingdom.
