Akcansa was established with the merger of Akcimento (established in 1967) and Canakkale Cimento (established in 1974) in 1996.
Active in the Marmara, Aegean and Black Sea Regions, Akcansa produces cement and clinker in its three factories located in Istanbul-Buyukcekmece, Canakkale and Samsun-Ladik. The Company also has five cement terminals located at Istanbul-Ambarli, Izmir-Aliaga, Yalova, Yarimca and Hopa.
Following the merger between Akcansa and its subsidiary Betonsa in 1998, Akcansa started to provide service under the “Betonsa” brand. Through this merger the Company produces ready-mixed concrete in over 35 plants throughout the Marmara and Aegean regions.
The Company merged with another subsidiary, Agregasa Aggregate, in 2002, and produces aggregate under the “Agregasa” brand in its 4 plants.
Akcansa aims to have “the highest quality in production and service” in order to supply the demands of its domestic and international customers and to compete by creating differences that go beyond the price issues.
As the leader of the Turkish cement industry, Akcansa supplies 10% of our country’s cement demand and 12,5% of the country’s total cement and clinker exports. In addition to being identified as an environmentally friendly company with the award given by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, the Company maintains its leadership position through its outstanding service approach and its facilities that are equipped with the latest technology.
