International Medical Center for Processing and Cryopreservation of Biomaterials PJSC was established by Human Stem Cells Institute PJSC in October 2014 to carry out activities on personal banking of hematopoietic stem cells of umbilical cord blood and other valuable biomaterials. The spin-off into a subsidiary was made in order to more efficiently manage the business of Gemabank, created by HSCI in 2003, as well as to use state incentives for taxing the profits of medical companies. Gemabank is a licensed bank for personal storage of umbilical cord blood cells and umbilical cord. It complies with the requirements of international GMP standards. The transfer of Gemabank's activities to the "IMCB" PJSC began in 2015 after the appropriate licensing.
