LOMO PLC was founded on February 4, 1914. It is the oldest Russian enterprise in the sphere of development, production and sales of optical-mechanical and optical-electronic devices, based on the most advanced technologies.
LOMO product range includes today microscopes for different spheres of application, flexible medical endoscopes, Night Vision devices, professional and amateur telescopes, eye-safe lasers, airfield equipment, measuring devices as well as defense products for the Armed Forces.

In many lines of business LOMO is the monopolist in Russia. During years of history those devices were created here that opened new directions of science and engineering. These were the first domestic telescope, industrial laser, video recorder, cinema projector as well as the biggest telescope in the world BTA. About 4.5 thousand employees work at the firm nowadays. Sales volume in 2003 amounted to 1.76 billion roubles (140% of level in 2002), export volume increased by three times. Nearly 50% of products are exported to 35 countries of the world.

The strategy of LOMO lies in transition to a universal company where the most profitable and high technological fields are concentrated, such as development of optical devices and manufacturing of fine mechanics and optics.

Main shareholders structure 01.09.2008: Sputnik LTD - 17,7%; Viribus LTD -16,1%; Rubin LTD - 14,5%; BOSI-TREND Close Company - 9,9%; KEIRA CAPITAL C.A. - 9,1%; Alexander Aronov - 8,8%.
