Bharti Airtel Limited provides telecommunication systems and services to individuals and businesses in India, Africa, and internationally. Its Mobile Services division offers voice and data telecom services through 2G/3G/4G wireless technologies; and post-paid, pre-paid, roaming, Internet, m-commerce, and other value added services. The companys Telemedia Services division offers voice and data communications based on fixed network and broadband technology. This division provides high-speed broadband; local, national, and international long-distance voice connectivity; and fixed-line voice, mobile, data, and other connectivity solutions. Its Digital TV Services division offers digital broadcasting services under the direct-to-home platform; and 373 channels and services. The companys Airtel Business division provides communication and ICT services, such as voice, data, video, network integration, enterprise mobile applications, digital media, and data center and managed network services; and MPLS-VPN, private leased circuits, satellite services, audio and video conferencing, corporate value added services, EPBX, Centrex, contact centre solutions, and virtual calling card services to business customers. Its national long distance infrastructure includes approximately 83,389 Rkms of optical fibers, 1500 MPLS and SDH POPs, and 100 POIs with the local exchanges. This divisions international infrastructure consists of ownership and various investments in submarine cable systems. Bharti Airtel Limited also offers tower infrastructure services, including setting up, operating, and maintaining wireless communication towers; and mobile commerce services. It serves approximately 275 million customers. The company was formerly known as Bharti Tele-Ventures Limited and changed its name to Bharti Airtel Limited in April 2006. Bharti Airtel Limited was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in New Delhi, India.
