In late 2009, under the arrangement of Beijing municipal government and the SASAC of Beijing, Beijing Energy Investment Holding Co., Ltd. ("BEIH") launched a restructure of its clean energy businesses with Beijing Jingneng Energy Technology Investment Co., Ltd. ("Beijing Jingneng Technology") being the platform. After introducing external investors on April 30, 2010, Beijing Jingneng Technology successfully changed from a one-man company to a sino-foreign joint venture limited liability company co-invested by seven shareholders, namely, BEIH, Beijing State Assets Management and Administration Center, Beijing Enterprises Energy Technology Investment Co. Limited, Barclays Bank PLC, Beijing Shenghui Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd., Beijing International Electric Engineering Co., Ltd., and Beijing District Heating (Group) Co., Ltd.. On August 18 of the same year, Beijing Jingneng Technology held the inaugural meeting and its first general meeting, completed the capital verification and the change of business registration procedures, and obtained the business license and officially changed its name to Beijing Jingneng Clean Energy Co., Limited ("Beijing Energy" or "BJCE") on August 25. Beijing Energy focuses in Beijing, the capital of the PRC, as its core coverage area, and operates wind power, gas-fired power, hydropower, energy saving and photovoltaic power businesses in Beijing, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Yunnan Province, Sichuan Province, Shandong Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, investing in dozens of wind power, gas-fired power, hydropower and photovoltaic power projects. In the meantime, it actively promotes comprehensive resource utilization as well as energy saving and environment protection projects such as waste-to-energy, geothermal, comprehensive waste heat utilization and regional heat energy supply network projects.
