Colbun S.A. is a Chile-based company principally engaged in the generation of electric energy. The Company operates a network of 13 hydroelectric generating plants and seven thermal power stations, which are located in the areas of Quillota, Los Andes, Curacavi, Rancagua, Talca, Los Angeles, Valdivia and Puerto Montt, and have a total installed of more than 2,500 megawatts (MW). The Company owns such subsidiaries as Empresa Electrica Industrial SA, Colbun International Limited, Sociedad Electrica Melocoton Ltda, Rio Tranquilo SA, Hidroelectrica Guardia Vieja SA, Hidroelectrica Aconcagua SA, Obras y Desarrollo SA, Termoelectrica Nehuenco SA and Termoelectrica Antilhue SA. It also holds interests in Centrales Hidroelectricas Aysen SA, Transmisora Electrica de Quillota Ltda and Inversiones Electrogas SA. In addition, the Company is a 35.17%-owned affiliate of Minera Valparaiso SA.
