Compania Electro Metalurgica, a Chilean metal parts manufacturer and mining services company, forms parts of the Claro group and maintains its headquarters in Santiago, Chile. Founded in 1917, Elecmetal supplies the mining industry with cast steel spare parts designed to improve ground engaging and mineral grinding performance. Its products include grinding mill liners, crushing components and ground engaging tools, among other items used in the mining industry. The firm has offices in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela. Elecmetal primarily holds financial investments in the steel parts, glass packaging, and wine sectors. ME Elecmetal, the steel parts business, is comprised of the operations business of Elecmetal and its affiliates: US company ME Global Inc, Chilean companies Fundicion Tallers Ltda and Esco Elecmetal Fundicion Ltda, and ME Long Teng Grinding Media (Changshu) Co, a joint venture in China. ME Elecmetal maintains a joint venture with US company ESCO Corp.
