Cenovus Energy Inc. (Cenovus) is an oil company. The Company's operations include oil sands properties and established crude oil and natural gas production in Alberta and Saskatchewan. It operates in four segments: Oil Sands, which consists of Cenovuss producing bitumen assets at Foster Creek and Christina Lake, heavy oil assets at Pelican Lake, new resource play assets, such as Narrows Lake, Grand Rapids and Telephone Lake, and the Athabasca natural gas assets; Conventional, which includes the development and production of conventional crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs) in Alberta and Saskatchewan; Refining and Marketing, which is focused on the refining of crude oil products into petroleum and chemical products at two refineries located in the United States, and Corporate and Eliminations, which includes unrealized gains and losses recorded on derivative financial instruments, gains and losses on divestiture of assets.
