Leningrad region is a subject of the Russian Federation. The location of the highest authorities of the Leningrad Region is the city of St. Petersburg. The Leningrad Region borders on five constituent entities of the Russian Federation: St. Petersburg (a city of federal significance), the Republic of Karelia, the Vologda Region, Novgorod Region, Pskov Region, as well as two states: the Republic of Finland and the Republic of Estonia.
