After the reorganization of Tula electric power system by separating the companies as per the type of electric power business JSC "Tulenergo" acts as a distribution grid company (DGS) and is included into the responsibility area of JSC "Center and North Caucasus Interregional Distribution Grid Company" since April 1, 2005. On September 11, 2006 an extraordinary general meeting of JSC "Tulenergo" shareholders decided to devolve powers of the sole executive body of the Company on the management company - JCS "Center and North Caucasus IDGC" JSC " Center and North Caucasus Interregional Distribution Grid Company" was registered on December 17, 2004 and is a subsidiary of RAO "UES of Russia" that holds 100 per cent of its voting shares. JSC "Tulenergo" transmits electric power via the distribution networks of 0,4 – 6 – 10 – 35 – 110 kV and connects consumers to electric power infrastructure. Servicing area of the Company is the territory of Tula region, a constituent entity of the Russian Federation occupying 25 700 sq.m. (that is comparable with the territory of the whole state of Macedonia); its population amounting to 1676 thousand people.
