It provides transportation and storage of natural gas to customers in various regions of the north-eastern and south-eastern United States, the Maritime Provinces in Canada and the Pacific Northwest in the United States and Canada, and in the province of Ontario, Canada. It also provides natural gas sales and distribution services to retail customers in Ontario, and natural gas gathering and processing services to customers in western Canada.September 6, 2016 – Enbridge Inc. and Spectra Energy Corp announced that they have entered into a definitive merger agreement.The Transaction was unanimously approved by the Boards of Directors of both companies and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2017, subject to shareholder and certain regulatory approvals, and other customary conditions.
