As of April 1, 2004, FleetBoston Financial Corporation was acquired by Bank of America Corporation. Previously, FleetBoston Financial Corp. operated as the holding company for Fleet National Bank. The bank was engaged in personal financial services, national commercial financial services, regional commercial financial services and investment management, international banking, and capital markets businesses. Personal financial services business included consumer banking, small business, and the credit card unit. National commercial financial business services comprised specialized finance and national banking. Regional commercial financial services and investment management business included regional commercial financial services and investment management. FleetBoston had international banking operations in Brazil and Argentina. Capital markets business included fleet specialist/execution and clearing and principal investing. FleetBoston Financial Corporation is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
