JSC Pikalevskaya Soda was established in 2009 in the Leningrad region. The company produces soda ash (sodium carbonate, sodium carbonate), potassium carbonate (potassium carbonate, potash), food additives E501 (potassium carbonate), potassium sulfate (potassium sulfate), cement (Volkhov, Leningrad region).
The company's history began in the 60s of the twentieth century. In Pikalevo in the early 60s of the twentieth century, for the first time in world practice, a waste-free technology for the complex processing of nepheline concentrate to produce alumina, soda ash (sodium carbonate), potash (potassium carbonate), gallium and Portland cement was mastered on a large industrial scale. The company shipped finished products by rail, road and sea.
Within the framework of chemistry and petrochemistry, the main application of potassium carbonate is the production of mineral fertilizers, chemical reagents, and paint products.
One of the positions in the list of consumers of potassium carbonate is occupied by the glass industry, namely the production of optical, refractory and crystal glass. Potassium carbonate is also used in construction and in the production of finishing materials. In addition, potassium carbonate has found application in the agro-industrial complex, food, feed and mining industries.
